How to Create a Hollywood Film Poster

I had the amazing opportunity to use Photoshop to create a film poster of my choice for my Professional Imaging Class! It was a nerve-racking because I wanted this to be a quality Hollywood film poster like the ones you see in the professional field, and although it was a lot of work, I think it came out great! Here’s my Hollywood Film Poster!

What made this Hollywood film poster fun to make was that 90% of the work was tweaking with Photoshop’s blending options. The first thing I did was take a photo of myself from the chest up wearing some welding goggles in broad daylight. NO FANCY LIGHTING, NO STUDIO EQUIPMENT. Just me, my camera, and some good old natural light. Next I downloaded some royalty free images to help me get some good textures for my film poster (see the links below).  I then used the selection tool to cut out my image and place it in front of my FOG texture. I then used my brush tool to blend my body with the hiker’s photo to add some dramatic effect. I then spent a good time playing with the brush tool, blending options, and some downloaded brush tool to give myself a gritty, Hollywood film poster look. Lastly, i marked myself up with a little bit of the oil paint filter to give me that Hollywood film poster 1970’s painting look. I then made the photo a little bright so it looked good on website forums, and it turned out really good! BIG shout to Mir Rom who has these AMAZING YouTube tutorials that helped me make this cool poster!     https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEoyp41c5FU0JoImJy8rPzw
